Dear gamers,
I hope you do well!
Thank you for your continued interest in the games of “Sound of Drums,” your kindness, and your support.
20th of October 0600 CEST we will launch the project The Great Escape on Gamefound. We are happy if you follow the campaign:➽ Gamefound The Great Escape
We at Sound of Drums were VERY excited when Philip DuBarry asked if we were interested in publishing the game. Of course we were! When I had the privilege of discovering Philip DuBarry’s design, I was particularly intrigued to learn which officers he had chosen and what nationalities they represented. You can choose between 14 officers from 7 different countries: Poland, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, South Africa, the United States, and New Zealand.
Take, for example, Roger “Big X” Bushell from South Africa. He was a British Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force (RAF), a criminal defense attorney, and a competitive skier who became world-famous as the mastermind behind the legendary mass escape known as “The Great Escape” from the Stalag Luft III POW camp.
One feature of the game we are really happy with is that we have for the first time a team of two great artist that provide spectacular art work. We thank you for the fantastic support for the current campaign of Assault Red Horizon 1941 revised edition. We have sent in the final printing files and are waiting for the final samples and will start printing.

What we do this fall?
While fulfillment of Battles of Napoleon Vol. 2 – Quatre Bras 1815 / Wartenburg is almost completely finished (we still miss some shipments for the Benelux and Switzerland), fulfillment of the huge project Europa Universalis – Der Preis der Macht and its expansion Wider das Schicksal as well as all add-ons will be fulfilled when we are back from SPIEL26.
We can hopefully soon hand over the printing files of No Retreat: The Russian Front 1941-45 to the manufacturer. We will co-print with Assault Red Horizon 1941.
Before leaving to the convention SPIEL26, we will have some more exciting news about all the projects we have in development and what we will show in Essen at the SPIEL26. Watch out for the next blog!
THANK you all for your tremendous support. We really appreciate it!
With your enthusiasm we are able to bring fantastic games on your table. Our ambition is to show and prove that we are trying to make a maximum effort that you will hold close to perfect games in your hands.
We wish you and your beloved a great fall, peace, health and harmony!
