Hi reader, here is our latest newsletter!

Dear Retailers
Finally we can show you a first sketch of one of our upcoming titles: Battles of Napoleon - Volume I: Eylau 1807.This was a very interesting (and extremely bloody) battle in the snowy hills around Eylau. Our graphic artist is doing a great job.He created a map and counter style that portray the era well, he was inspired by contemporary maps. One of the biggest challenges is the fact, that the battlefield was snow covered, streams and ponds were frozen and also snow covered. So, we know, they were there, but covered. The same games for the woods in that area. Most of the woods in that area were birches and in winter, they have no leaves (for sure no colored leaves). So, the colors black and white dominate.
On other maps by other publishers, streams and ponds are portrayed in blue and woods in autumn colors. We don't do that
The task for Marc von Martial was to portray this correctly and finding 4 different shades of white and to give the map enough detail to make it look great and not boring white. I saw more of his sketches than we show for now and I promise you, you will be surprised how great a winter map can look like!
We try to catch the style of situation maps of the Prussian Army staff from 1790-1840, which was by then used by most armies in Europe. As this will be a game series, the task for the graphic artist will be to create a consistent color palette and a set of symbols/icons that both work for games that date from 1805 to 1815. Stay tuned for more information!
