Today we unlocked the last stretchgoal in our campaign on Gamefound! The French Aerostatic Unit!
Thank you all for this amazing support!
“Let's see if the inhabitants of the moon delight in the freedom and equality which we French citizens enjoy; if not, we will offer them the Declaration of the Rights of Man, which makes tyrants grow pale!”

After the very first manned flight of the Montgolfière brothers in 1783, ballooning became a true ‘hype’ all throughout the world. Once the dust started to settle during the French Revolution, the idea of using balloons for military purposes was taken up by the Committee of Public Safety. In 1794 the Aerostatic Company was organized. It was to use balloons on campaign to spread propaganda and perform reconnaissance, but also to ‘overawe’ the enemy on the battlefield and to signal the movement of enemy troops.
Since it is such an interesting topic, we have decided to offer you the l’Entreprenant balloon customize wooden playing piece and its corresponding Law card as a final stretchgoal together with a new Royalist leader card…just to keep the pressure on you all while playing this amazing game 😉
